For us, the first step with a such project of the stone-buildings restoration to create gites was to “be” on the Internet in order to make our name. As we will not have concrete photos before the end of restoration site -for a high-performance website- we have been advised to comment the unfolding of this project on a blog. The result is here if you can read this post today… during the restoration works in Pouzauges, the website will be created and should appear around April 2008, date to be confirmed as well as the official opening of gites. A direct link will be available on this blog as soon as the website “Horizons vendéens” opens.

In the meantime, in order to make our name among the gites, we should obviously belong to tourism professionals and show our reliability and high quality for our gites:

• Quality label :
  For each level -national, departemental or local- a gite is more likely to be rent out if it belongs to a quality label. As the tourist has more and more special requirements, particularly on quality and comfort of the gites, he prefers choosing lodgings with better quality classifications, so we ought to propose a high and irreproachable quality of the gite with satisfactory equipments.
  Moreover, the label allows us to broaden our advertising target. Indeed, it gives significant advantages like: to guarantee a quality and national specifications, to belong to owners’ yearbook, to be in the departemental, regional and national directory, to be advertised nationally, regionally and departementally, also in the European region.
  Lastly, a label is so one of conditions to be granted by the departemental administrations.
  “Gîtes de France” will be our label, chosen for reasons of fame and respect with the rural French tradition.

• Tourist information centre:
  Belong to tourist information centre in Pouzauges is not to be missed. For its availabilities and duties, this tourist information centre  should be a close partner as far as knowledge on the region, assitances, helps and especially advertising range are concerned.
